AC Servo Drives

AC Servo Drives are servo drives that are powered from AC voltage. Servotronix ships thousands of AC servo drives annually, primarily our long-standing CD Series 5 and our PPB direct PWM family of products. All of our products are PWM servo amplifiers. Servotronix has also developed customized AC servo systems for OEMs. These systems are comprised not only of servo drives, but include the AC power supplies necessary for controlling the power to these drives.

  • CD SERIES 5 - Full Featured Servo Drive Family

    The Servotronix CD is a high-performance low-cost digital servo drive, supporting Current, Velocity or Position mode. Numerous Position Control options are offered, ranging from the classical ±10Vdc command, through encoder following and pulse-and-direction, all the way to SERCOS control. Choose from three velocity control algorithms to optimize performance on your system, and use the Autotune function to quickly and easily achieve high performance operation. It has been designed to be a multifaceted amplifier, capable of driving a vast product basket of brushless servo motors and their assorted feedback devices. The drives come in standard packages of 3, 6, 10 and 20 amp sizes. All are packaged in a small frame size for minimizing cabinet space. A 600V model is available that supports 6Amps.

  • OFDL - Open Frame Drive

    The OFDL presents a new level of servo drive cost-benefit ratio. It is an integrated digital servo drive designed to provide the benefits of a full-featured drive while at the same time being low-cost. The OFDL consists of a single circuit board including both the power stage and the digital circuitry. Input and Output circuitry enables the OFDL to be used for machine control functions in addition to the servo drive capability. The drive software has been designed such that additional communications capabilities such as CAN bus or ModBus can be easily added in order to meet the needs of specific applications.

  • PPB - PWM Power Block

    The Servotronix PWM Power Block is designed to interface to the Delta Tau PMAC2/UMAC motion controller, where the controller is generating PWM signals. The smart power stage is available in five power ratings, with the 3 and 6 amp model providing a 1:3 ratio of continuous to peak current, and the other models providing a 1:2 ratio of continuous to peak current. The intelligent interface card features extensive protection mechanisms, over-current protection, drive over-temperature indications, and over- and under-voltage protection. A 7-segment display shows faults.
